SPECIAL MEMBER ALERT

Later this month, LAFD Captain II Ruben Navarro will be retiring from the Los Angeles Fire Department after serving the City of Los Angeles for more than 38 years. He will also be attending his final meeting as the active duty, elected member of the Board of Fire and Police Pension Commissioners where he has served for more than 13 years.

UFLAC members have consistently demonstrated our trust in Ruben Navarro’s integrity and financial acumen by repeatedly electing him to serve as our elected, active duty LAFD representative on the Los Angeles Fire & Police Pension Board.

In addition, Ruben spent a total of six years serving as a Trustee, Vice President, and President of the Relief Association, where he continued his work supporting firefighters and their families.

On behalf of the nearly 3,300 active members of United Firefighters of Los Angeles City Local 112 and our retirees, UFLAC would like to thank our brother Ruben Navarro for his leadership and public service caring for the residents of Los Angeles and the proud men and women of the LAFD.

Captain Navarro will be working his final shift with the LAFD on June 18 at Fire Station 35 in Hollywood, not too far away from the Northeast LA communities where he was raised.

Ruben Navarro has been a true brother to everyone who has worn our LAFD uniform and touched the lives of countless Angelenos that he has protected and cared for over the years. He will be missed.

In Solidarity,

Executive Board
United Firefighters of Los Angeles City, Local #112
